Serves 6 people
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of Faria Basmati rice
- 1 tbsp zeera
- 1 medium sized onion
- 2 big tbsp of gee
- 4 cups water
- 6 small size bay leaves
- 1 tbsp of salt
Method:
- Wash the Faria Basmati rice 2 or 3 times and put it in a bowl of fresh water
- Soak for 30 minutes.
- Chop the onion and put it on the stove with a medium sized pot.
- Now add the gee, zeera and the onions.
- Mix it well and let onions cook till it is golden brown.
- Then add the bay leaves and salt and mix it well.
- Add 4 cups of water and the Faria Basmati rice and stir.
- Cook covered on low heat for 20 minutes.
- Now serve hot with a traditional curry dish.
